Käyttölinjan cockerspanieli

 

Cockerspanieli on vanhan englantilainen spanielirotu. Se on metsästyskoirarotu, jota pääasiassa käytetään karkoittamaan lintuja ja kanineja. Cockerspanielia voidaan käyttää myös noutavan koirana. Se on pieni koira, jolla on paljon itseluottamusta aina ison rusakon tai fasaanikukon kantamiseen (tai ainakin yrittämiseen). Rotu on jakautunut näyttelylinjoihin ja käyttölinjaan. 

Nykyisin cockeria näkee lähinnä lemmikkinä, mutta on täysin mahdollista löytää niistä hyviä metsästyskoiria. Kun harkitset cockeria, niin pidä mielessäsi, että se on hyvin aktiivinen rotu, joka kaipaa runsaasti liikuntaa ja tekemistä. Aito cockeri on suloisen luontoinen, rakastava, miellyttämisenhaluinen, erittäin älykäs, nopeasti oppiva ja iloinen koira.

The Cocker, more than any other Spaniel, has the ability and character to lift your spirits if you are not feeling on cloud nine. Pound for pound they are more tenacious that others, Cockers have great stamina and seem able to work well even in warmer weather.
